Dog parks provide a great space for dogs to exercise, socialize, and have fun. They help improve behaviour, offer mental stimulation, and give dogs a chance to interact with others. Plus, it’s a great way for owners to connect with the community!
Off-Leash Areas
Willans Hill Off-Leash Area
- Parts of this reserve are leash free, it’s a long stretch of park that is sure to keep your pups entertained for a long tranquil walk.
- The parts of the Willans Hill reserve area south of Lord Baden Powell Drive to east of Captain Cook Drive, and all of Willans Hill Reserve between Leavenworth Drive and Red Hill Road.
- If your dog likes: Long stretches of trees and rocks for sniffing / being out in nature.
Wiradjuri Reserve
- Just a short walk up from the famous Wagga beach is your own dog beach! This reserve backs onto the Murrumbidgee river and has lots of areas for your dogs to swim and dig!
- The area at the eastern end of the reserve between Pebble Beach and the boat ramp area.
- If your dog likes: Swimming on a hot day!
O’Halloran Park Agility Track
- Just opposite the beautiful Lake Albert is a off-lead area to keep your agile and athletic dogs entertained! With tunnels, see-saws, high-jump and so much more!
- O’Halloran Park Dog Agility Track, Lake Albert is located on the corner of Lakeside Drive and Lake Albert Road.
- If your dog likes: Jumping, agility games, and burning some energy!
Boorooma Off-Leash Area
- This off-leash area is situated at the top of the beautiful Boorooma estate, with sprawling views of North Wagga and a great scenery change. While smaller than other parks in Wagga its great for a nice time outside with lots of trees for relaxing in the shade.
- Part of Explorer Park. The site is fenced and covers approximately 0.34 hectares.
- If your dog likes: A quiet afternoon relaxing in the park
Gobbagombalin Off-Leash Area
- Brand new in 2024 this dog park is versatile and caters to all varieties of dogs! One half of the newly built park is enclosed by high fences and an agility track, this is separated from the second enclosure which is open perfecting for our fetching friends!
- This is located on the corner of Yenda Avenue and Paradise Drive.
- If your dog likes: Bouncing with energy, fetching, agility, socialising and sniffing!
On-Leash Areas
- Wagga is a very dog friendly place! Most areas and parks around Wagga are pet friendly and are open to taking dogs. Please always check before entering in parks to ensure you are following all council and private requirements.

What to look for in a good dog park
- Ensure fresh water is available
- Secure fencing with a gate that closes
- Signage to indicate it is an off-lead area
- Bags to use to pick up waste
- Bins to place waste in
- Shade / trees for dogs on hot days
- Seating options for you to kick your feet up
Please remember
- You must always have control of your dog, any uncontrollable chasing, attacking, or harassing may result in the council’s involvement.
- Pick up all poop from your dog and place in a waste bin
- You dog must wear a collar with identifiable tags and we strongly recommend they are registered.
