Our Veterinarian Team

Dr. Becci

Senior Vet & Director
B.VetBiol/B.VSc (Hons)

Dr Becci grew up on a sheep property in the Central Tablelands before embarking on her veterinary studies in both New Zealand and Wagga Wagga. She was a part of the first year to graduate from Charles Sturt University in 2010, receiving Honors. Dr Becci began working at WWVH in 2010 and become a Director in 2013.

Becci and her husband Steve run a sheep and cropping property outside of Junee with their Jack Russell Zoe.

Since graduation, Becci has undertaken further training in ultrasonography, behaviour and dermatology, as well as being accredited for the Johne’s Market Assurance Program, Ovine Brucellosis, and as a Racing NSW race track vet.

Particular interests include production animal medicine, herd health, and small animal medicine.

When not juggling mum duties and running the vet clinic, Becci enjoys skiing (both water and snow) and catching up with friends and family.

Dr. Tristan

Senior Vet & Director
B.VetBiol/B.VSc

Tristan is from a beef farming family based in North East Victoria, but moved to Wagga to commence his studies in 2006.

Tristan was fortunate enough to travel to Dubai for an equine externship in 2011, before taking a role in mixed practice in Dubbo. During his time at university, he met his now wife Dr Andrea, and they jumped at the opportunity to become a part of the WWVH team in 2013.

Dr Tristan enjoys all the challenges that mixed rural practice throws as well as the management side of the business and teaching the final year students. He has undertaken further training in Equine Dentistry and is also accredited with the Australian Cattle Vets Pregnancy Testing scheme& and Ovine Brucellosis scheme.

Outside of work, Tristan enjoys his new passion of Crossfit, putting his pilot licence to use and travelling with Andrea and their daughter Pippa.

Dr. Andrea

Senior Vet/Clinical Director
B.EqSci, B.VetBiol/B.VSc (Hons), MANZCVS (Small Animal Surgery)

After graduation from CSU with First Class Honors,  Dr Andrea worked at WWVH for 2 years before spending 3 years working at a Small Animal Referral Hospital completing further training in referral surgery and medicine cases.

In 2018 Dr Andrea passed her examinations in Small Animal Surgery, gaining membership to the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists. We are very fortunate to have Dr Andrea re-join the WWVH team to offer a comprehensive surgery service.

Andrea has a particular interest in small animal surgery, pain management, rehabilitation and preventative medicine. She is also competent in diagnostic imaging (heart scans, hip & elbow scores) and accredited for PENNHIP.

Outside of work, Andrea loves her time with her stockhorses Jerry and Bond, enjoys training her Hungarian Viszlas as well as family time with Tristan and Pippa.

Dr. Nikki

Vet Team Leader/Deputy Clinical Director
B.VetBiol/B.VSc

Dr Nikki graduated from Charles Sturt University in 2017 and has since worked widely, from a rotating internship in Newcastle, to dairy and hobby farming, and in small animal care in Australia and New Zealand.

Nikki moved back to the Wagga area in 2021 with her partner in support of his own Veterinary career, with her scruffy dog Trip and faithful steed Beau. Nikki has a passion for Emergency Medicine and Critical Care, as well as further training in Low Stress Handling and Internal Medicine.

Nikki enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, especially the opportunity to build rapport with clients, and relationships with pets.

Dr. Anita

Associate Vet
B.VetBiol/B.VSc (Hons)

Dr Anita grew up in ACT, spending her time on her parents beef property near Bungendore. After high school, Anita pursued her love of showjumping and studied a Bachelor of Education.

Anita moved to Wagga Wagga in 2013 and completed a Graduate Diploma of Animal Science and Bachelor of Veterinary Science with Honours.

Since graduation, Anita has worked for CSU as an anatomy & physiology lecturer and helps out in the reproductive field. Anita’s veterinary interests include small animal surgery and equine reproduction.

Outside of work, Anita enjoys spending time with her pointy dogs; Clyde the whippet and Lilly the greyhound, as well as horse riding, arts and craft and welding

Dr. Clancy

Associate Vet
B.VetBiol/B.VSc

Dr Clancy graduated from Charles Sturt University and worked in the Southern Riverina for 2 years. Clancy moved back to the area to settle into Tarcutta on the farm with her family and has been a great asset to our veterinary team.

Clancy enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine (small and large animals) but has a special interest in farm animal medicine.

Outside of work, Clancy enjoys the rural lifestyle and takes a strong interest in breeding and training working Kelpies.

Dr. Liesel

Associate Vet
B.VetBiol/B.VSc

Originally from South West Victoria, Liesel was drawn to Wagga Wagga for the hands on Vet course at CSU. After 6 years here, she is still loving the vibrant atmosphere that Wagga has to offer. She says the welcoming team at WWVH made staying an easy decision. We are rapt to have her easy going, hard working & caring nature in our team.

In her spare time she loves hanging out with her two Jack Russells, chasing netballs around with the CSU Bushsows, cutting laps at the Oasis, and enjoying time in the sunshine with friends.

Dr. Jessy

Associate Vet
B.VetBiol/B.VSc

Jessy came over from New Zealand in 2013 for a holiday, and met her partner while here. After 9 years as a diploma Vet Nurse, Jessy decided to go back to University to become a Vet. She graduated from Charles Sturt University in 2022, and joined our team shortly after.

Jessy is enjoying getting familiar with all of the areas of Veterinary Medicine, and is looking forward to the relationships she’ll be buliding with our wonderful Clients and their pets.

Jessy loves to spend time with her partner Dylan and sons Nathan and Fergus when not at work, and also loves being outside (camping, hiking and exploring Australia).

Dr. Jillian

Associate Vet
BVSC MANZCVS (Medicine of Horses)

Jillian graduated from James Cook University in 2017 and started veterinary work in North Queensland in mixed practice. Following this, Jillian pursued her interest in equine medicine, undertaking equine internships in both California and North Queensland. Jillian moved to Wagga Wagga in 2020 to complete a residency in Equine Medicine and Doctorate of Veterinary Studies at Charles Sturt University. In 2021 Jillian passed membership examinations in Medicine of Horses. Following her time at Charles Sturt University, Jillian has joined the team at WWVH.

Jillian’s areas of interest include equine medicine, internal medicine and diagnostic imaging. Jillian has a keen interest in the gut microbiota of animals, as it was the major focus of her research at Charles Sturt University.

Outside of work Jillian enjoys playing field hockey, camping and spending time outdoors.

Dr. Ella

Associate Vet
B.VetBiol/B.VSc

After graduating in 2019 from CSU Wagga Wagga, Ella explored her fondness for dairy cows and briefly worked in mixed dairy practice in Victoria before coming home to Wagga and continuing her career at WWVH.

In her spare time Ella enjoys CrossFit and gardening but she and her husband Simon are usually busy running around after their kids Florence, Digby, and Tess, as well as dogs Eggs and Pickle, when they’re not flying around the state for their business.

Ella is passionate about all species and aspects of being a companion animal veterinarian, and has keen interest for small animal surgery.

Dr. Courtney

Associate Vet

Originally from South West Queensland, Courtney recently joined the Wagga Wagga Veterinary Hospital team after completing her studies at Charles Sturt University.

Courtney enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine with a special interest in ophthalmology.

Outside of work Courtney loves spending time with her friends and family, paddle boarding, and playing netball.

Kate

Vet Tech/Nurse Team Leader
B V.Tech

Kate is a skilled veterinary nurse with over 7 years of experience. With a special interest in surgical nursing, Kate is passionate about providing top-notch care to every patient.

Kate has been with Wagga Wagga Veterinary Hospital for 3 years and is our current nurse team leader; she excels in fostering teamwork and delivering excellence. With a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology under her belt, Kate is dedicated to staying at the forefront of her field.

In her downtime, she thrives on the excitement of crafting, finds solace in nurturing her garden, and loses herself in the captivating realms of literature. She also cherishes spending time with her two border collies and two chickens.

Amelia

Vet Nurse
Vet Nurse Cert 4

Amelia started working at Wagga Vet on a casual basis in 2021 after doing placement with us for two years. She likes the atmosphere and people here, and working with our furry four legged patients.

Amelia has particular skill with reserved and nervous patients, and loves making them feel safe while they’re here.

Amelia loves to go to the river and spend time with her dogs, family and friends.

Martika

Vet Nurse
Vet Nurse Cert 4

Martika brings 13 years of Vet nursing experience to us. As of 2022, she’s excited to be our Puppy preschool coordinator, and loves being in a busy environment, giving the best care to the patients.

Martika’s non-work hours are spent with her two cats and dog, along with her Hubby and 3 kids.

Martika loves (and is very good at!) baking, sewing and gardening.

Georgia

Vet Nurse
Vet Nurse Cert 4

Georgia comes to Wagga Vet from a small country town, where she worked at a busy mixed practice. It’s been great to bring Georgia’s calm into the building.

Liz

Dental Nurse
Cert 4, RVN, AVN

Liz has a special interest in medical and surgical cases. Dental Health and Radiography, we’re lucky to have an experienced and enthusiastic addition to our team.

Isla

Vet Nurse

Isla moved to Wagga in 2018 to pursue her Bachelors of Animal Science which she completed in 2022. Along the way she found herself drawn to the veterinary industry and enrolled in a Bachelors of Veterinary Technology which she will complete in 2024.

Isla loves everything about this industry but her main passion is emergency and critical care nursing, and medical imaging.

When not at work you can find Isla with her two German shepherds and two horses or coaching equestrian riding disciplines!

Emma

Vet Nurse
Vet Nurse Cert 4

Emma has been nursing since 2008 and in that time has experienced working in an array of clinics due to her husband working within the defence force and moving locations every few years.

She enjoys the diversity that comes with working at WWVH and the supportive team environment.

Since arriving at WWVH she has worked alongside the nursing team but also enjoys working out the front with the reception team and clients.

Outside of work Emma is kept busy with her young family, Benny the chihuahua x, and Chip the kelpie pup, and loves camping, cooking and keeping active.

Bianca

Trainee
Certificate II Animal Studies

Bianca started her traineeship with us in June 2022, and has been a marvellous addition to the Hospital, and even managed to smash out her 12 month certificate II in less than six months!! We look forward to supporting her through the rest of her requirements to become a qualified nurse!

A part of working here that Bianca values is supporting people through the difficult times in pet ownership.

Bianca’s favourite animals are dingoes and kangaroos, and she enjoys family time and study.

 

Our Administrative Team

Werner

General Manager

Werner arrived in Wagga Wagga in November 2023 to join the WWVH team as General Manager. He instantly fell in love with the town, the river, the people and the surrounding farming community.

He is educated with a business degree and an MBA. Werner has worked as a farmer, cheese manufacturer, dairy consultant, manager and director in the dairy industry.He is passionate about animals and their dependence and loyalty to humans and being their stewards on this planet.

You will often find Werner enjoying the outdoors, paddling on the river and recharging mentally and physically in the natural environment.

Reann

Customer Care/Admin Team Leader

Originally from Parkes, Reann came to Wagga to study and ended up working at the University afterwards. She spent eight years in administration, pastoral care, and function coordination there, before moving into Local Government. After refining her skills in customer service and finance, Reann came to Wagga Vet Hospital ready to welcome clients and patients to the hospital with a smile.

When not at work Reann loves spending time with her family and dog, cooking, sewing, and doing and coaching CrossFit.

Alex

Customer Care

Alex was born in the area and has recently returned to Wagga when joined the team part time around her Animal Science studies and quickly became so valuable she’s now full time.

Alex adds some joy and great competency to our team. Alex’s favourite part of working here is the wonderful team work and our high standards of animal handling and care and respect for welfare.

When not at work, Alex enjoys playing netball, being on the family farm, and down time with her loved ones, dog, and two cats.

Leanne

Customer Care & Inventory

Leanne has been nursing with WWVH for over a decade, and demonstrates strong empathy for animals and their owners.

Leanne has a keen eye for detail, which led her to over-see stock and inventory at WWVH. As boarding services were dissolved, Leanne has become a valued member of the reception team.

Leanne loves her country music, antique furniture and caring for animals.

Holly

Customer Care & Nurse Consults

Holly started as a trainee nurse over a decade ago, then took her first full time job as a qualified vet nurse with WWVH. She’s recently moved into more time in Reception, and our recently introduced role of consult nurse.

Holly enjoys the fast-paced environment of WWVH and ensures all patients receive the best care.

Outside of work, you can find Holly with her young family and dogs George and Greg, cat Carol and more and more poultry, and off-siding her husband with his earth-moving business
