A Safe & Happy Christmas To You & Your Pets

Dear Valued Clients,

Christmas is nearly here! We hope you’re looking forward to spending quality time with family, friends and of course, your furry companions. As we prepare for the festive season, we wanted to share some important information to help keep your pets safe and healthy over the holidays.

Christmas Hours

Our clinic will be closed for routine appointments from 6pm Tuesday 24th December until 8am Friday 2nd January 2026.

In case of emergency, please call 02 6926 0900. We recommend stocking up on your pet’s medications and food before we close.

Medication Reminder

If your pet needs medication over Christmas, please place your requests before 4pm on Monday 22nd December. This will give us time to prepare your orders before we close for the holiday break. We will still be available for emergencies only through our on-call vet during the closure period.

Keeping Your Pets Safe This Christmas

The festive season brings excitement and fun, but it can also present some hidden dangers for our pets. Here are a few quick reminders to help keep them safe:

Watch out for toxic foods – Chocolate, grapes, onions, garlic, and fatty foods like ham can make your pet seriously ill. Keep Christmas treats well out of reach!

Heat safety – Never leave pets in cars or outside without shade and water. Summer heat can be deadly, especially during the busy Christmas period when routines are disrupted.

Decorations and plants – Christmas trees, tinsel, ribbons and plants like lilies and mistletoe can be dangerous if chewed or swallowed. Keep decorations secure and toxic plants away from curious noses.

Stress and anxiety – The holiday hustle and bustle can be overwhelming for pets. Ensure they have a quiet, safe space to retreat to when visitors arrive or when the noise gets too much.

Travelling to the coast? – Don’t forget tick prevention! Even if your pet isn’t joining you, ticks can hitch a ride home on luggage or people.
